Wildlife Causalities.

🦉Over the last week, we had two wildlife casualties in need of our help.🦅
Both a buzzard and a barn owl arrived with a broken wing and were both extremely emaciated.
Depending on the how server the damage is, surgery or a splint can be an option for a wing to heal.
For the barn owl, it was case of surgery to work some magic on his fractured humerus.
As you can imagine, surgery on birds is a delicate procedure because their body & bones are very delicate.
Both are doing very well, they are being closely monitored by the fabulous nurses and receiving frequent bandage changes to check for unwanted pressure wounds.
With time, they will both start stage two of their rehabilitation in our unit. We will keep you guys posted on their journey.
