Dog rescue

The cspca in collaboration with the county dog warden service and the gardai were involved in the rescue of 28 dogs last Friday morning. Included in these were a number of females with puppies, all of the dogs are going to be assessed by our vet but we would love to get them into foster this week. If you have fostered for us before we would love if you would get in touch with the centre on 021 4515534. some of the dogs are very shy and will benifit hugely from the extra TLC that they would receive in a family setting, if you would like any further information please contact the number above.

  Best will week 2nd-6th November

Your legacy can make such a difference in the care, rehabilitation and re-homing of the animals in our care. your generous gift has allowed us to carry out some major infrastructural projects at the centre over the past number of years which has helped us provide a safer, warmer and more caring environment for our animals. The list of species we care for is ever increasing, your generous gifts will ensure that we are there to help no matter what type of animal it is, no matter what the problem for many years to come.

If you would like further information, in confidence, please email the centre on cspca@eircom.net or phone 021-4515534. thank you.

Eli lilly

Eli Lilly cork

Volunteers from eli lilly cork who yesterday volunteered there time to help us in the centre with some painting and maintenance work and were so efficient we decided to reward them with the pleasure of walking some of our dogs we would like to thank both the volunteers and eli lilly for taking the time to help us and in particular claire for organising the whole thing.

Well at least for the month of November and help raise vital funds for the CSPCA and Munster lost and found. Derek and the team at the bull Mcabes on the airport road have been huge supporters of the centre and have very kindly organised this fundraiser for both cork charities with the big shave off on December the 5th at the bull Mcabes. If you would like any further info or would like a sponsorship card you can simply call into the centre in Mahon and get started. The winter months are always the hardest for any charity as we try to help as many welfare cases as we can and fundraisers such as these are a very important lifeline for many animals.

Recent school visits

Students and staff from scoil ursala and gaelscoil mhachan who recently visited the centre in mahon and donated €50 to help us continue our work. Thanks guys.

Snakes and spiders

Some of you may be aware of the large amounts of Snakes, Spiders and other insects that were removed from a house in Cork last week. Unfortunately of the 96 animals that were taken 54 of those were dead. All were brought to the cspca centre in Mahon for correct identification and feeding etc. We are glad to report that we will be able to re home all the others, with all going to Fota wildlife park here in Cork, Tayto park in co Meath and to a private sanctuary.
